Oxford Friends of the Earth launch schools clean air action survey : please respond!
Oxford Friends of the Earth (OxFoE) is this week launching a survey of schools across the county to find out what is being done on tackling air pollution issues and encouraging healthy transport.
OxFoE is aware that some schools have been encouraging cycling and walking to school (with support from local councils), while also discouraging car engine idling by people picking up or dropping off students. It is clear that there is good work but it seems to be only at a few schools.
OxFoE has therefore set up the Oxfordshire Schools Clean Air Network and as a first step is carrying out a simple survey of what is being done now. It is online here and is also being sent to schools: https://forms.gle/q2YFxZkgytYsCx4A6.
The survey asks about involvement in existing programmes such as Walk to School Week (happening on May 20-24th) and also about schools taking action on their own.
